About Isabela James | Chicago Wedding Designer & Planner in Chicago
Making beautiful things
HAPPEN BEAUTIFULLY.
Meet Isabela james—designer, storyteller and thoughtful optimist.
"I founded the Design Co. after planning my own wedding and discovering how quickly celebration can become tangled in comparison, pressure and the idea that meaningful must also mean more expensive.

What I loved most was not accumulating décor. It was finding the thread that connected everything: the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted our guests to feel and the details that made the day unmistakably ours. I learned that a clear creative direction does more than make a wedding beautiful. It gives every decision a purpose.

Today, I bring that same perspective to each Isabela James celebration. I listen for the details that matter, translate them into a cohesive visual language and help couples decide where their investment will have the greatest impact. The process is creative, collaborative and grounded in real life—because thoughtful design should create confidence, not pressure."

The visual world of an Isabela James event is romantic, layered, and deeply personal—where timeless elegance meets an unexpected point of view. Every color, texture, floral, and finishing detail is thoughtfully selected to tell your story and create an atmosphere that feels both elevated and entirely your own. The result is a celebration rich in beauty and meaning, designed with intention rather than excess.

We Believe...
Your story comes first
We build from your priorities—not a Pinterest formula
Décor matters most when it shapes how the celebration feels.
We curate what belongs to you instead of purchasing what is momentarily popular.
Priorities create clarity; they do not diminish beauty.
Guest experience guides design
Authenticity outlasts trends
A budget is a creative tool
Cohesion creates luxury
A clear, well-executed idea often feels more elevated than an excess of disconnected details.
